The Mitchell-Hedges skull, which is the ‘Crystal Skull’ of Indiana Jones fame was supposedly ground by a lost pre-columbian civilization with nothing but diamond dust and hands.

The skulls are all fake. They have no magic powers. They were produced in the 19th and early 20th century by forgers trying to make money from wealthy collectors, most notably the British Museum and the Louvre. In the new Indy movie, the skulls are supposed to amplify ESP. I think Lucas actually suggests they are the skulls of aliens. At least that’s what I read on aintitcool!
The skulls have been proven frauds.
They originate from an ancient race of people comprised entirely of quartz crystal skeletal structures. While no true remains have been found yet, the reason is simple. These ancient people were from Atlantis or another Galaxy!
